I am using Ziplock freezer bags to keeps things dry in the car for my emergency supplies. Do I have to worry about offgassing in the car and with the high temperature? It it made of PE.
A New Refrigerator that Doesn’t Outgas
Hi there! I’m shopping for a new fridge, and I’m looking at the descriptions, ALL of them so far have prop 65 warning, which I’m not happy with, plus some of them smell terrible, like a toxic factory inside when I checked some out at stores. Are there any refrigerators that are made with non toxic materials at all? Without the prop 65? Please share anything you know about this. Thank you.
Does TSP Outgas Toxic Fumes
I'm confused about TSP. I was looking around your site for info about it because I see it's an ingredient in Concrobium Mold Control, which I was looking into using on a shower. The product is said to be non-toxic, and I see it listed as a recommended product on your site.
MDF in Toys
I am sorting through my children's toys and have found some wooden toys that do seem to contain MDF (now that I know how to recognize it). Some of these toys are at least 4 years old. Supposedly, they still comply with safety standards but would you discard these toys? Or, since I've had them for a couple years, have they outgassed and become safe/acceptable?
How Long Does Vinyl Flooring Outgas?
We have leased a house with vinyl flooring that is at least three years old. How long do vinyl floors outgas? It was the only house we could find without new flooring, carpet and paint. I am now sensitive to the smells of chemicals but was not bothered when inside the home for 15-20 mins. on two occasions. Do they give off significant amounts of lead?
Marvin Fiberglass Windows
I purchased several Marvin Fiberglass windows and had them installed two and one-half weeks ago. Right after installation we smelled a strong acrylic odor throughout the house, which has only abated a little bit. After two weeks of research I discovered that the fiberglass is actually coated with something called "acrylic capstock". I have searched everywhere and cannot find out how harmful this odor is and when it will stop outgassing.
Does Polyester Clothing Offgas?
I was wondering if Polyester and other Petroleum based clothing give off VOCs? & if they do give off VOCs how long would it take to outgass them?
Leather Couch Offgassing
My partner and I bought a new leather lounge suite recently. It was made in China and when it arrived it smelled very strongly of chemicals. I've been away since the day after the couch arrived, and now it's time to return to our unit but I'm very concerned about the chemical smell.
