Organic Pillow

I always have trouble getting a pillow to stop smelling strong. This one is from Janice’s and they aired out the stuffing for a week. I also have trouble with the smells of pillows from White Lotus , so it is not any particular store, it is the organic cotton. (Also had trouble with smells of kapok, etc). It has been airing out since end of August. It still smells so strong that I cannot use it. Any suggestions?

Nontoxic Weighted Blanket

I've been searching for a weighted blanket to find and am having no luck finding one that doesn't include some kind of polyester. The best I've found is this for example, with glass beads and certified toxic-free fabrics, but they still say the use a thin layer of polyester batting to hold the beads in place

Pillows—Kapok Vs. Organic Cotton

I was wondering if you could tell me the difference between organic cotton and kapok? If i were to make a bed pillow or a sofa pillow what product ( organic cotton,kapok)would be more comfortable and healthier to be around?

Affordable Organic Clothing for Plus-Sized Women

Are Organic Strawberries Really Organic?

I saw an article about organic strawberries not really being organic and they showed a picture of Driscoll's Strawberries with it. So I wrote to them regarding the above and below is there answer. You cut through this much better than I do. What do you think, should we not be buying them???

PLA Fibers in Organic Mattress

I am researching a mattress for my daughter. I wanted cotton or wool or both, and the most affordable so far for me is Naturepedic organic cotton quilted deluxe. The only problem - it contains PLA fibers somewhere in the mattress. I know it is polyester derived from plants, but is it ok to have it inside the organic mattress?

Organic Fabrics - Are They All Treated?

I am trying to outfit my daughter's bedroom. I have considered purchasing organic cotton fabric from fabric vendors to make my own curtains, pillow covers, bedding, etc. Is that a safe bet? Are all fabrics typically treated with formaldehyde and other chemicals?

How to Remove Musty Smell from Organic Mattress

I am wondering if there is a natural way to get a musty smell out of my older son's Naturepedic wool/cotton mattress. It was stored in a closet in our home for a year or so, and now it smells...I guess from lack of air circulation?

PUL on Organic Cloth Diaper

I just bought many organic cloth diapers. It has a tag that states: Outer 100% polyester, Inner 100% organic cotton. However, now I know that PUL is considered not safe for babies. I wonder how it is transferred to the baby. I mean, is it by outgassing? They don't smell bad and besides, for maximum absorbency they recommend to wash them 5 times prior to use. Is it by leaching?
